Two years ago today we lost John's dad to colon cancer. The wound of it still lies open. I don't expect that the wound will ever truly heal and close completely, but this year does seem to be a tad easier to stomach than the last. Today we loaded up and headed down to the manufacturing center to plant some citrus trees in honor of Tim. I know he was smiling down on us as the kids ran around giddily, and we sowed into the ground the possibility of fresh fruit next season, all in honor of him.
Man, do I miss him.
