Ashton Laughed!!!

Yes, tonight at around 8:45 PM, Ashton laughed for the first time. He was sitting in his swing and I was talking to him, as usual, and Jackson came up and sniffed him and he just starting laughing! I think Jackson's whiskers must have tickled him. It was the most beautiful noise I have ever heard :) I can't wait till he does it again!

In Three Months Time...

It is hard to believe that this was me just three months ago. I never could have guessed just how blessed I would be. The picture of Ashton below was taken on the day he turned three months old.

Baby Shower

The girls at work had a belated baby shower for me today. Since I had Ashton over the summer, they felt that I should still have a shower. It was so sweet. Laura (Ashton's amazing and wonderful nanny) brought him to the shower, decked out in his plaid ralph lauren romper that Grammie got him. He was of course the hit of the shower, and put on quite a show of smiling and kicking for all of the teachers. It was a nice end to a day that started out with one of my kids throwing up in my classroom (always fun) and another one needing stiches after taking a face dive on the playground at recess. OK, off to give Ashton his bath and then HOPEFULLY to bed!

Ashton Has a Mommy!

Many people have said that it looks like Ashton doesn't have a mommy, because I am not in any pictures, mainly because I am taking them. SO, here we are, Ashton and his mama.

Drunk Pumpkin

Ashton was a pumpkin for Halloween. We had some professional pictures taken of him in September by the FABULOUS Meg Baisden ( www.megphoto.com ) and we took a few in his costume. We didn't decide to do this until the end of the shoot, and he was all tuckered out at that point. The photographer told me to sit behind the chair and hold him up and and the last second take my hand away. This was the result, aptly named by Meg, "The Drunk Pumpkin" shot.

Rub a Dub Dub...

This is a pic of Ashton and Aunt Emily right after bath time last month. Ashton LOVES his bath time. It is his favorite part of his day. He smiles as soon as we put him in the tub and loves to splash in his lavender scented bubbles. Whenever he gets out of the tub, he gets a full body massage with his lavender scented lotion. This is the time of day when he talks to mama the most. He kicks his legs and talks, talks, talks. When he is done with his massage, he gets his jammies on, has his hair brushed, and he and daddy rock in the easy chair.

Ashton's Many Hats

I don't know if it is normal or not, but I seem to put a lot of animal inspired hats on Ashton. He has a doggie hat, a bear hat, and a towel with a hippo head, just to name a few. I really just can't seem to get away from them! He is such an easy, peasy baby. He muses his mama by letting me dress him up all the time and never fusses. I think he is going to be laid back like me. (hopefully not as scattered, though!)

My First Post!

OK, so the purpose of this blog is to be able to update our family and friends as baby Ashton grows and develops. I also want to be able to look back and recall all of the many memories to come someday. SOOO, here goes...
