that's how we roll

My sweet baby Hayes ROLLED OVER this morning!! Woo hoo :) AND, his daddy saw the whole thing go down! A first for daddy, who is usually working hard to support our family while the kids are working hard to complete milestones at home. It was so exciting. Ashton and Emory were taking an unusally early snooze, seeing as how they woke up at 4:50 am. Hayes was chilling with daddy and I, hanging out on his tummy. I got up and walked out of the room for, oh, five seconds, and he rolled over. So amazing.

Yesssssss

This is definitely my favorite word right now. Spoken by my favorite sassafrassy girl. Speaking has not come as easily to my sweet number two. She knows what she wants to say, and she understands what she is saying...but sometimes she is the only one :) Well, lately we have turned a major corner! I love hearing all of the adorable verbiage coming out of her mouth lately. Especailly the phrases. Here are some of my faves:

Apple Juice
Ashton (ash-eee)
Mommy! Where are you!?
Where's my baby? OH! There's my baby! (looking for her baby doll)
Daddy! I need you!!
She says "Bless you, Mem-ry!" when she sneezes
And, my fave, "Yessss", said with gusto and purpose, when asked a question.

Meltin ma' heart!!

She loves to sing and is quite good at remembering the words to songs. Some of her faves are twinkle twinkle little star, the wheels on the bus, rock a bye baby, and old mcdonald. She is so precious singing her little songs. She usually rocks back and forth and tilts her head to the side when she sings. Ha! Sassy to the core!

In other AWESOME news, my new camera has been ordered! Thank you amazing hubby! New pics coming soon!

Hello old friend!

Seemed like an appropriate title for this post :) Oh, how I have meant to blog. I think of posts throughout the day. In the shower, standing over the stove, changing diapers, playing "tea party" and loading the washing machine. But then... life happens. My sweet baby cries, my sassy girl unrolls a full roll of toilet paper into the bathroom sink and turns on the water, and my big boy asks for help "wiping". And yes, of course, all at the same time. And by the time various incidents like this have come in waves throughout the day, the only thing I can focus on is making it to bed. Sigh. But here's the thing. The important thing that my sweet, sweet children who will read this one day need to know. Life is grand and full and exciting and wonderful. So, so wonderful. I have completely consigned myself to never having a fully clean home and to filling my days with dress up with Emory, playing a monster to Ashton's superhero and rocking and feeding Hayes all day long. To compound blog woes further, my camera was stolen on my anniversary in December. I. miss. my. camera. I must admit that blog posts to me feel bare without photos. All this being said, my energy is slowly creeping back (thanks in part to baby Hayes sleeping longer stretches at night) and I am feeling the need to jump back on the blog wagon. Let me tell ya, these munchkins are just too precious not to capture every single moment!
