the big apple

Daddy and I took our annual "just us" trip to NYC. It was amazing wonderful and fabulous in every way. I believe I said, "I want to move here!" 20+ times. In the same breath, I would say, "How in the world do people with small children live here!?". New York City is addictive. The smells, noises and people make you feel energized, like you are part of something big. Something important. We did too, too much to blog about. The first full day we were there, it was John's birthday. We met up with my wonderful aunt and uncle and spent the day eating and acting like crazy tourists. It was sublime. No schedule. Other highlights were seeing Wicked and taking in a Yankee's game at their brand new stadium. I reluctantly got on a subway a couple times and we picked up treats for the kids at FAO Schwartz. We bought luggage and new running shoes for John in Times Square at midnight. We slept in every morning, ate street food, were invited and went through a secret passageway in Chinatown to look at "Chanel" bags, met a wonderful chef and had one of the best meals of our lives at his restaurant, strolled through Central Park and ate brunch on Park Ave. The photos below do no justice. And you'll have to excuse all the pictures of food. I'm so pregnant.
