Faves

A few of Emory's favorite things right now.
1. Favorite food - Raspberries. Preferably shoved into her mouth by the handful. We have to cut her off when she has had enough.
2. Favorite word - Still "daddy", but we have been hearing a lot of the words "please", "down", "thank you" and "love you".
3. Favorite book - Counting Kisses. We read it at least 20 times per day. She has also really started enjoying Goodnight Moon at bedtime.
4. Favorite attitude - Sassy.
5. Favorite "lovie" - Her soft, pink and cream blanket. She hugs it to her face and says, "Awww."
6. Favorite person - Ashton. Emory loves her big brother so much. She loves to run up and down the front hallway with him (their favorite game) and gives him a much bigger hug and kiss at bedtime than her daddy and I. She also loves going into his room in the morning to get him out of bed. The exchange is the same every morning: Ashton - "Good morning, Erm-ry!" Emory - "Hiii!!!"

A few of Ashton's favorite things right now.
1. Favorite "toy" - The "cool book". Also known as daddy's ipad. Ashton is obsessed with this device. John downloaded instructional games that teach him reading, matching, math and writing. We have to limit to amount of "cool book" time he gets each day.
2. Favorite food - Peanut butter sandwiches.
3. Favorite past time (other than the cool book) - Any type of water activity. Ashton has become such a little waterbug! He starts swim lessons on Monday and I can't wait to see him actually swim.
4. Favorite person - Daddy. His best bud.
5. Favorite phrase - "Sound good?"
6. Favorite thing to talk about - His impending birthday party next month. He invites anyone that he comes into contact with and is constantly running down the festivities for daddy and I.

the beach

Sorry for the blogging hiatus. We are (and have been) in Tallahassee...again. :) One of the highlights of my life happened yesterday. We went to the beach and had one of my favorite days ever. The number of other people on the beach could be counted with two hands. There was no oil, no meltdowns (other than Emory being highly offended by the sand and saltwater at first), and generally not a care in the world! I am pretty sure that Ashton would have pitched a tent and set up permanent residence in we let him, and Emory has found her calling as a "sand shoveler". Between Papa, Grammie, the kids and myself we collected about 10 lbs. of sand in our bathing suits. Absolutely one of my favorite days ever, with my favorite people ever... except daddy. He is sadly in Texas, working hard. There were several times yesterday when I had to consciously stop myself from feeling forlorn and homesick for him. I wish so badly that he could have experienced yesterday with us. We miss you daddy!!

I must credit my mom with some of the pictures below. She has such an incredible eye! Good work, Grammie!
